Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of ongoing systemic bilateral contacts, hosted a meeting between the Pridnestrovian Foreign Minister, Vitaly Ignatiev, and the Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Izabela Hartmann.
The interlocutors held a thorough exchange of views on the current agenda of the negotiation process. In particular, they discussed issues related to the work of certain Expert (Working) Groups and aspects requiring priority attention within the framework of the parties’ negotiations, including the functioning of the Vehicle Registration Offices and the so-called “law on separatism.”
A distinct emphasis was placed on the systematic violations of the rights of Pridnestrovians by the Republic of Moldova, including threats, attempted recruitment, and other forms of pressure on PMR citizens at the Chisinau airport. The Minister expressed strong criticism of this issue and urged the OSCE to keep it under constant scrutiny.
During the conversation, Vitaly Ignatiev once again emphasized the Pridnestrovian side’s readiness for communication without preconditions at all legitimate levels of the negotiation process, including with the Moldovan leadership, in the “5+2” format, and with the new political representative from the Republic of Moldova.
The diplomats discussed several cooperation projects in the humanitarian sphere, as well as in the fields of ecology and education, and reviewed the results of a number of activities carried out through bilateral cooperation over the past few weeks.
